Seafarers’ Certification Centre

The Centre conducts Vocational/Professional training/refreshment courses for the management, operational and support levels of Merchant Fleet personnel on the basis of which Maritime Transport Agency issues appropriate certificates in accordance with “The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers”. The Centre is provided with the latest editions of simulation equipment.

Batumi State Maritime Academy made presentations of Educational Programs.
On March 22nd, Batumi State Maritime Academy made presentations of Educational Programs in Batumi Public Service Hall. There were attending: Leavers, First deputy of Rector, Mr. Irakli Katsadze, Deep Sea Captain, Mr. Suliko Surmanidze, Head of Sustainable Development and International Relations Department, Mrs. Natia Dolidze, representatives of Business and Management faculty and Maritime Faculty and students.

Batumi State Maritime academy represented, two Master Educational programs of Maritime Faculty, to Maritime Agency of Transport. In the meeting also were discussed with another points ensure of cadets with maritime practice.

In Batumi State Maritime Academy start each semester inquiry according to plan about: Training and Educational activities at the Academy, Professor-lecturers and infrastructure. All of this serves to improve the quality of learning and to display the gaps in infrastructure and recover them.

Department of Sport and Youth Affairs of Ajara made conference on a topic “Part of Youth in development of Civil Society”, which was held in „Georgian Palace Hotel” on the 16 -17th of March, in Kobuleti . Students of Batumi State Maritime Academy took part in this conference.

Mr. Tamaz Telia has participate in the 42th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Theory and Practice in the physical, mathematical and technical sciences”. International Academy of Sciences and Higher Education of London has awarded Mr.TamazTelia by the Certificate

Visit of Representatives of “Columbia Shipmanagement “ in Batumi State Maritime Academy
Representatives of “Columbia Shipmanagement “ visited Batumi State Maritime Academy and met Rector of Batumi State Maritime academy Mr. Irakli Sharabidze. Representatives of company visited Seafarers Training and Educational Center. According current memorandum between Batumi Maritime State Academy and Columbia Shipmanagement , active Seafarers will be certified at Seafarers Training and Educational Center.

Rector of Batumi State Maritime Academy Mr. Irakli Sharabidze and Administration of Academy, Congratulated professor –lecturers of Batumi state Maritime academy and co-workers with “International Women’s Day” 8 of March . Also Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Ajara Autonomous Republic, congratulated Batumi State Maritime Academy with International Women’s Day.

On March 7th 2013, in the hall of Academy was held the play of student’s circle “Gia Shushabandi” ( Open Glass gallery) by Shadiman Shamanadze, where took part students of Batumi State Maritime Academy.

International Educational Fair 2013
Batumi State Maritime Academy participated in 3rd International Educational Fair, held on February 15-16, 2013 in 11th pavilion of the exhibition center of”EXPO-Georgia”. Within the limits of exhibition the professor-lecturers, cadets and administration of the academy presented maritime simulators, technical appliances. The interested parties were able to receive informational booklets and leaflets, get the information about the history of academy and future intentions.

The Visit of Korean Delegation to BSMA
On February 8th, 2013 the Government delegation of South Korea paid a visit to Batumi State Maritime Academy. The visit was also attended by the representatives of Maritime Transport agency of Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Shipping and Crewing companies and Maritime Technical Service Ltd.
