Seafarers’ Certification Centre

The Centre conducts Vocational/Professional training/refreshment courses for the management, operational and support levels of Merchant Fleet personnel on the basis of which Maritime Transport Agency issues appropriate certificates in accordance with “The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers”. The Centre is provided with the latest editions of simulation equipment.

On 23-26 of September, 2013, International Maritime English Conference IMEC-25 was held at Piri Reis Maritime University, Istanbul, Turkey. About 70 representatives of 20 countries of the World participated in the Conference. Visit of Secretary General of Black Sea Association of Maritime Institutions in Batumi State Maritime Academy
Secretary General of Black Sea Association of Maritime Institutions Mr. Hisashi Yamamoto by official visit visited Batumi State Maritime Academy on July 8-10. In the meeting were discussed different problems of Maritime sphere. such as: Cadets supporting by maritime practice, to buy training ship and other actual questions. Also was planned to held next General Assembly of Black Sea Association of Maritime Institutions in Batumi in May,2014.

Presentation of New Books in Batumi State Maritime Academy
Professor-lecturers edited six new books in Batumi State Maritime Academy. Such as : “ Ship handling”, “ Applied mechanics” , “Legal regulations of Maritime insurance related issues”, “English for Navigation skills: a Guide to the IALA MBS “. These books will use by Students of Maritime and Business and Management Faculties. The presentation was attended by Rector of Batumi State Maritime Academy and Professor-lecturers. Batumi State Maritime Academy spent about 10 000 GEL for edition of these books.

On June 24-28 was held The Fourth General Assembly and The First Conference of Black Sea Association Of Maritime Institutions in Novorosisk, Russian Federation.
